    JVC KW-V51BT Reviews

    Average Customer Review(s):

    (16 Reviews)

The unit works great and provides the option for EU tuning (important for me since i am overseas right now). It does take a little while to read disks (DVD mp3 disks, DVD's and CDs the same). I wish the mic for the bluetooth was built into the from panel vs. having a separate mic to attach and run the wire for. Also it could us an update to be more user friendly with the latest smartphones. Now i have to do everything from my phone, but it will still display and answer calls from the unit itself. Everything else has to be done from my phone.

Pros: Look, sound and options for speaker adjustment

Cons: Slow disk reader, mic, software for smartphones.

The unit is nice. I like the way you can view an iPhone screen. The phone connection seems to have a lot of glitches. The glare on the screen is so bad that it's hard to see during the day and the screen doesn't get bright enough. The radio is amazing. I pick up stations from across the state.

Pros: Radio iPhone screen view Adjustable apps

    Cons: Glare Brightness Bluetooth

    Great product with great sound.

    Pros: Easy to use....Quality Sound

    Cons: Screen can be improved...glare

Bought because it has HDMI and allows you to use Waze for navigation. This unit takes distracted driving to the next level. Screen difficult to see at any angle during sunny days. When will they make a screen that tilts toward the driver? Little flush buttons are cute, but VERY impractical even just for volume changes. You HAVE to look at it to accomplish anything. The "clean look" has no place where you need to be able to make adjustments while preventing accidents. Combine the weak screen backlighting/glare, the tiny indistinct buttons, and the messy user interface with ever-increasing frustration from Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB conflicts that it can't seem to resolve on its own, and you have a good sounding stereo that demands 85% of your focus to operate. They have their cute disclaimer for using devices while driving, but that doesn't excuse the fact that interacting with this thing is far more dangerous than any other digital distraction I've experienced. Also, getting music to play while displaying Waze is seemingly a function of how the stereo is feeling that day. Sometimes we're good, sometimes we're not. Maybe once I come up the significant learning curve necessary to switch cleanly between CD/DVD, HDMI, USB, and Bluetooth functions, this rating would go up a little, but at the moment I do not get any pleasure out of using this overpriced stereo.

    Pros: Sound Features

Cons: Glare Ease of use Not clear on screen what is a button and what is just for information Have to yell and lean in to microphone for people to hear even when properly placed

I really thought that the MHL phone sync would be super handy but it is rather difficult to use. You have to connect your phone with a wire, because i have Samsung phone i have to have an adapter with an additional USB power wire so i have lots of wires that i have to attach. i can not listen to the radio and use MHL at the same time. Lots of glare and with polarizing sunglasses its even worse. Lagging response between the screen and the phone in the MHL format. Its OK but i would recommend to save money and go with a regular MHL free option. Just have the phone as GPs separate.

Pros: - Use google maps - see your phone on the screen.

Cons: -VERY big sun glare -Phone Does Not charge while you are using the MHL -Lagging response between the screen and the phone (feels like the very first touch screen phone) -Can not listen to regular radio while you use google maps on your phone -Lots of wires if you use the MHL (USB + adapter+ HDMI)

Good stereo easy to miss with the settings just make sure your phone is compatible with unit beside that good quality

    Pros: Sound quality is good

Cons: Making sure phone works with the unit

I had high hopes and those quickly turned to disappointment. The unit and box has MHL written on it and it shows the apps input like it's something to be proud of, but JVC needs to rethink that or take it off as it's an embarrassment. Wanted and tried getting it to work with my VZW Galaxy S5 and that was an exercise in frustration. *I've seen that some people have had luck with using the S5, but it wasn't happening for me. Bought the JVC adapter, the Samsung MHL adapter, an HDMI cable, with no joy. You have to have the JVC app on your phone and that app is another story (and a joke) in itself. Finally abandoned hope and got it working on my other phone (RAZR XT912) w/the phone HDMI port. All I wanted was Maps/Waze and I was happy that it at least worked on one phone. But... it's important to note that if you want to listen to the radio, you can't listen to Waze or any voice direction as it won't interrupt the music. I must point out that this unit was recommended by an adviser at Crutchfield and I went for it; shame on me, if I would have looked at the directions on the website, it tells you what phones JVC got to work with the unit and said list is very limited. The other option I was offered was Pioneer (what this unit replaced), but I see a lot of the same issues with those head units with connections. Sound quality is decent and better than my Pioneer, but overall this unit was a waste of money. Android Auto units are reported to be better, but twice the price for entry.

Pros: I had to think of one - sound quality is decent and a fair amount of juice without distortion at reasonable output levels.

Cons: MHL? Is this a feature on this unit? Limited supported phones. Apps? What Apps? The screen gets totally washed in sunlight, you can't see jack at any angle. Polarized shades compound the problem No sound and direction prompts from Waze/Maps when listening to radio or other input. Pandora sync doesn't work with all phones. Takes a while when it does.

Best investment ever was worth it and work good

I'd like to start out by saying that I've owned multiple head units in the past and have found that the JVC equipment that I've owned always does well for sound quality and overall quality of build. I love the functions on the head unit. Things such as MHL and the EQ really make the audio quality work well. The fact that I can use my HTC M8 to play high quality flac files really makes it great for me. I'm a bit of an audio snob and vehemently disagree with anyone who says that there's no difference in sound between a regular MP3 and a good quality flac file. This unit pushes clean and clear power to my amplifiers and the crossover adjustment in the head unit really helps the amps and component speakers do their job. The MHL mirroring is a little quirky but once you set it up it's fine. The Blutooth menu also is a bit of trouble if you're coupling an apple device and an Android. I don't know that JVC (or anyone for that matter) could avoid it. Overall, I'm very happy with it and JVC offers you the best bank for the buck in quality and function.

Pros: Handles flac files. Has crossover adjustment and relatively easy to use menu

Cons: MHL is quirky for mirroring (or at least it has been for me so far)

    Great product with great sound.

Pros: Easy to use Sound quality amazing

Cons: Screen can be improved- glare factor

Very nice head unit. Sound is really good. This unit has a lot of nice features. Install, wiring and setup was very easy. The only 2 things that kept this from getting 5 stars was the interaction with the Galaxy S5 phone. It does work well but getting it to work is a bit of a hassle setting it up. The other thing is that the DVD plays at a much lower volume that the other sources.

Pros: Easy of use. Feature for cost. Bluetooth works very well.

    Cons: DVD low Volume.

I bought this for my 2015 Nissan Xterra. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The only thing I don't like is that not all my factory steering wheel controls are functional with this unit. The press-to-talk/answer & hang-up buttons do not work at all. Otherwise, this unit has some really nice features and great sound quality.

Pros: Great features and sound quality

Cons: Not all steering wheel controls retained functionality after the installation.

    Happy with my purchase

I like the stereo, but the HDMI/MHL. I have the s-6 EDGE, but it doesn't connect to the screen through bluetooth. And the HDMI you need an adapter, what they failed to mention when I talked to the sales rep. But my question why won't it show my apps on the screen through bluetooth, does phone and audio good. Upset not getting the feature i wanted when I bought the system.

Crutchfield response on 8/3/2015 Once we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to help the customer understand that at this point, Bluetooth works for hands-free calling and audio streaming, but not screen images.

I have mixed feelings about this head unit. After working with it for about a week, I have all functions working. The instruction manual is not all that helpful in setting up things like the MHL/HDMI connection. The process is extremely specific and won't work unless done exactly as designed. I do have a note 4 fully working with on screen touch control using a 5 to 11 pin adapter and the factory add on cable. The touch control on screen is sort of a joke with the cursor type selecting. My auto Bluetooth connection is hit or miss, sometimes it connects and sometimes I have to force it. I don't care for the fact that if you choose the hdmi+Bluetooth connection for android the pandora connection will not work with Bluetooth, only with a physical connection, even though the phone is Bluetooth connected to the head unit. This makes quickly unplugging of the phone for any reason kick you out and then you have to go through a couple menus to change the setting. My only other complaint is the glare. The glare is pretty bad as is but with polarized sunglasses on... forget it. The screen is almost completely milky white. Overall I'm not blown away, but my expectations weren't extremely high with all of the features this has in the price range. If I had 1k to spend I would have gone with Alpine. Oh and no aux input?

Pros: Cool features, easy install, nothing else as loaded as this in the price range, full on screen phone control of android phone, 6 channels for a nice full stereo system

Cons: Bluetooth auto connect hit or miss, screen glare is on the high end, on screen touch control not very accurate, difficult/confusing initial setup/connections, no aux input

    Touchscreen & Remote Control

7" Motorized LCD Touchscreen Monitor: The KW-V51BT features a motorized 7" TFT Active Matrix, 16:9 touchscreen monitor. The screen has a resolution of 800 (H) x 480 (V) x RGB with 1,152,000 total pixels. The LCD serves as a video monitor, system information display, and touchscreen control panel. The bottom of the touchscreen monitor can be tilted upward at seven different positions to provide the best visibility in your vehicle. The monitor electronically slides down for loading or ejecting a disc.

    • Monitor Touch Control: Monitor Touch Control lets you operate certain functions of the KW-V51BT by making specific gesture commands on the unit's touchscreen. You can adjust the volume of the multimedia receiver by making a circular motion with your finger on the unit's touchscreen. You'll also be able to skip music tracks by simply swiping the touchscreen from left to right.
    • Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the head unit's touchscreen monitor, the KW-V51BT features frequently used hard-key controls along the bottom edge of the screen. Hard-key controls include Power, Source, Eject, Volume, and EQ.
Note: To prevent the display of video while the vehicle is in motion, the light green wire (attached to rear-chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. You cannot view video unless your vehicle's parking brake is engaged. If you attempt to view video without the parking brake engaged, the unit's LCD touchscreen will simply display "Parking Off". While your vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the head unit's menu screens/settings, source information, metadata, and album artwork.

Display Adjustments: The JVC KW-V51BT offers the following display adjustments to customize your visual experience in the car.

    • Customized Home Screen: You can select and arrange which sources and icons (up to 5) display on the unit's Home screen for easier, quicker access. Select the "ALL" icon to see all sources at one time.
    • Background: The unit's background color can be changed to one of three preset images or you can capture a custom image. While playing a video or JPEG file, you can capture an image and use the captured image as your background. When using a JPEG file as the background, make sure that the resolution is 800 x 480 pixels. The color of the captured image may look different from that of the actual scene. You cannot capture copyrighted content and images from the iPod/iPhone.
    • Picture & Aspect Ratio: You can adjust the brightness and black level of the unit's onscreen display. You can also adjust the contrast, color, tint, and detail level during video playback. The adjustment level for each setting is -15 to +15. You can also choose from four aspect modes (Regular, Full, Panorama, or Auto) for the in-dash display.10
    • Adjustable Dimmer: When the illumination lead (orange/white) is connected and the dimmer set to Auto, the display and button illumination will dim automatically when you turn on your vehicle's lights. The dimmer can also be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display is always dimmed), or Dimmer Time Set (you program the time for the dimmer to turn off an on).

Clock Display: The DVD receiver offers a 12-hour clock which can be visible from any source or menu screen. With your vehicle's key in the accessory or start position, the head unit will continue to display the LCD background image, clock, and button illumination during "AV Off" mode. Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely.

Remote Control: The JVC KW-V51BT offers compatibility with factory steering wheel controls (adapter sold separately) and comes with an IR remote control for added wireless convenience.

    • Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's to see if your vehicle is compatible.
    • IR Remote: The JVC KW-V51BT includes an IR remote control for wireless operation of the DVD receiver and connected devices (such as Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone, and USB).

2-DIN Chassis: The JVC KW-V51BT has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is no mounting sleeve included for a Euro- or Custom-mount installation. As always, please consult Crutchfield's to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The JVC KW-V51BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (3.0+EDR) allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.3 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC KW-V51BT. Check for Bluetooth compatibility.

SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the JVC KW-V51BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. The head unit will even establish pairing automatically with the Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+), when connected via USB. Once a device is paired, the registered Bluetooth device will automatically connect to the receiver when it is in close proximity (up to 30') to the receiver. You can pair up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices to the JVC head unit with a maximum of two Bluetooth phones and one Bluetooth audio player connected at one time (but only one can be used at a time).

Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. Thanks to the latest Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.6) with wideband speech capability, the JVC KW-V51BT provides more natural sound quality and details during wireless calls. The touchscreen controls of the KW-V51BT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers (All or Front). During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's touchscreen, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately in 5 seconds. The KW-V51BT also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
    • Dialing a Number: Using the KW-V51BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Entering a Phone Number: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's touchscreen.
      • Preset Dialing: Allows you to register up to 6 phone numbers for quick dialing. The preset numbers can be accessed from the head unit's touchscreen.
      • Phone Book: You can dial by using the downloaded phone book. You can download phone book data from your cell phone to the KW-V51BT. Up to 5,000 numbers can be stored for each registered cell phone. Each number can be up to 32 digits long and each name can be up to 50 characters long. You can search the phone book alphabetically (A-Z).
      • Call History: The Call History is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls (up to 50 each).
      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.
Note: This unit allows you to answer a call or dial out using any option without engaging the parking brake.

External Microphone: The JVC KW-V51BT includes an external microphone to carry on your side of your phone conversation and voice command dialing. The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level and noise cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.505" (depth).

Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Album Art): The JVC KW-V51BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The KW-V51BT will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as artist name, song title, and album art. The KW-V51BT also supports audio streaming of music apps downloaded on your smartphone with song/artist info, album art, and limited control. Advanced music control of your music apps will still need be done via your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Eyes Free Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth (not USB), the JVC KW-V51BT has the ability to access Siri through its touchscreen and external microphone. Simply press the touchscreen "voice command" icon on the Bluetooth Phone screen to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the KW-V51BT and its microphone. You can even ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's LCD touchscreen will only display hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the JVC KW-V51BT; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

    iPhone & Android Integration

iPod/iPhone AV Playback: The JVC KW-V51BT supports direct connection of your Lightning or 30-pin iPod/iPhone through its rear-panel USB port, HDMI input, and 3.5mm jack. The KW-V51BT supports playback of stored music and videos, as well as music and video apps on select Apple iPod/iPhone models. Video can only be displayed while the vehicle is in park.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-V51BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KW-V51BT are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

6ch/4V Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The KW-V51BT is equipped with 6ch/4.0V preamp outputs (Front, Rear, Subwoofer). The front and rear preamp outputs allow fader control, while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. • High-Pass Filter: You can activate a variable high-pass filter (40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220 Hz or Through) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers. The front & rear channel's high-pass filters can be set independently of one another.
    • Low-Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer preamp output features a low-pass filter. In order to prevent high-frequencies from being sent to your system's subwoofers, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter to 50, 60, 80, 100, 120 Hz or Through.

Speaker Select: You can select which type & size of speaker you have connected to the head unit. Choose from Standard (OEM/Factory), Narrow (4"/5"), Middle (6"/5x7"/6x8"), Wide (6x9").

    • Dynamic Range Compression: This function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a setting of On (reduced dynamic range), Dialogue (clearer movie dialogue), or Off (full dynamic range).
    • Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -15 to +6.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    AV Connections

A/V Output (with Dual Zone): The unit features a rear-panel composite video jack and 3.5mm audio jack to output A/V signals to an optional monitor and headphone system in the rear of your vehicle. You can select Disc, USB, iPod or AV-IN as the rear-panel source; or your can simply have the rear AV output mirror the head unit's selected front source. The volume of the A/V output will be controlled by your rear entertainment system. You can select between a 16:9, 4:3 LB, or 4:3 PS Aspect Ratio for the unit's video output to match your connected monitor.

Note: With Disc, USB, or iPod selected as your front source; you can only select AV-IN, AV Off, or the source playing in the front as your vehicle's rear source. You also cannot select Disc, USB, or iPod as the rear source if your front source is Apps or Pandora/iHeart.

I have an IPhone so I had to purchase the Lightning to AV adapter for the hdmi cable to plug into. Once this was done the radio will mirror your apps. You will have to input info via your phone like Google Maps for navigation. [ K Feb 08, 2017 ]
    A regular HDMI cable will work. I am unsure about Google Maps/Waze [ DUSTIN E Feb 08, 2017 ]
If you buy a non-OEM MHL cable ensure that it has power. Some require a separate usb pigtail. That is fine as there is an extra USB plug in. I just paid the extra $5 and got the JVC cable. While in MHL you can control GOOGLE maps via voice command and touch if you're properly mirroring your android and have the microphone installed. I've had some issues with the mirroring but I think it is either an HTC thing or the fact that my phone has security software due to the nature of my company work. Great head unit for the money. Looks like a factory unit in my WRX. [ Mike Feb 08, 2017 ]
IT depends on your phone. I have to control maps from my phone (Note 4). If I remember correctly the note 2 works from the head unit. Also, any MHL to mini HDMI will work. I bought mine through Crutchfield and it was not a JVC brand. Hope it helps. [ Richard Feb 08, 2017 ]
no adapter is needed [ garry Dec 21, 2016 ]
I have not Tried it. I just know it works with an iPhone. [ Matt Dec 19, 2016 ]
I have note 3, it works fine. With Samsung you usually do need an adapter (i do). So be ready to have even more wires (mhl, charger), hypothetically a great idea to have full integration but not very practical. [ alex Dec 19, 2016 ]
You can mirror whatever is on your phone to display on the screen [ CodyK Nov 24, 2016 ]
NOk issue plain it through my phone with the MHL cable. I don't know about through the unit itself. [ Richard Nov 24, 2016 ]
On your phone screen* [ ROBERTO Nov 24, 2016 ]
Yes as long as you can mirror your phone display, whatever is ok your phone screen will be mirrored to the head unit. [ ROBERTO Nov 24, 2016 ]
    No [ dustin Nov 24, 2016 ]
yes but its not a reliable connection after 2 hrs my HDMI connection always disconnected its self . [ Marvin Jul 03, 2016 ]
Not sure I simply use the DVD feature for. Movies. To my understanding the hdmi is for IPhone usage or Android. [ K Jul 01, 2016 ]
I'm not sure, but you can pug a USB into for movies though. Sorry I couldn't be helpful. [ Richard Jul 01, 2016 ]
While there is an HDMI connection on the back of the unit it's only activated when you select MHL on the head unit. I'm almost certain the JVC won't recognize the laptop as anything it can use as a media source since MHL is the standard used to connect to android devices for mirroring. I could be wrong. Crutchfield support should help you better on this. [ Mike Jul 01, 2016 ]
yes may need a lighting adapter that connects to the iphone and then to the hmdi cord [ Jolene May 09, 2016 ]
I'm not sure what car you're referring to but I installed this unit (which I love) and it has not affect on the factory clock on the dash. I know of no vehicle that is like what you're describing. [ Mike Apr 26, 2016 ]
You most certainly can adjust your factory clock. In my 2008 Toyota Tundra I performed this with ease. [ K Apr 25, 2016 ]
    Yes this unit does have a DVD/Cd slot and is motorized. [ K Apr 25, 2016 ]
Yes & Yes: "The bottom of the touchscreen monitor can be tilted upward at seven different positions to provide the best visibility in your vehicle. The monitor electronically slides down for loading or ejecting a disc." You will fid this information, and more, by clicking the "Details" tab on the stereo's main webpage and scrolling down below the "Features & Specs" table. I hope that helps! [ Ryan Nov 20, 2015 ] Staff
Yes. You have to plug it into the correct spot on the back since there is another connection for the Bluetooth mic as well. I use a 6 foot one run into my glove box that my daughter plugs her iPhone into. [ Mike Jul 01, 2016 ]
Yes. Just make sure it's a stereo aux cable. [ Mike Nov 12, 2015 ]
Yes, but you will lose some audio quality. [ Daniel Nov 12, 2015 ]
It does indeed work. I can't remember which cord it is but one of the cords uses that input. It might be the iPhone screen mirror cable. So long as you don't need that too you can use it for a standard aux jack. [ Robert Nov 12, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The MHL port on the JVC KW-V51 will work with the Samsung Galaxy S3, but you will have to purchase a microUSB 5 pin to 11 pin adapter from Amazon or from the store that your phone came from. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone () or online chat. [ Krissy May 30, 2015 ] Staff
    YES [ KIMBERLY Apr 25, 2016 ]
    Yes [ ROBERTO May 06, 2015 ]
